Hi I’m Holly Barratt. As being part of the
Destination Gems I have been assigned to be the magazine designer along with
Tresha. This involves gathering together everyone’s individual work and
figuring out a presentable way to include it in the magazine. I am also helping
out Fiona with the journalist side of things which involves helping out with
writing the blog and writing any articles that we may have to do. So far our
group is working together really well and I am interesting in seeing how our
magazine is going to turn out!

Group Roles
I'm Ashleigh and my role is Manager of the group. My job is to assign tasks each week to each person in the group and make sure that everyone completes the tasks on time so that we can complete the Magazine in time.

Map Task
Group meeting #1
6th March, all present.
Our first task is to mark on a map of the UK important destinations and places of interest as listed. There were 5 sections so we each took a part, researching where the places are. Holly then collated these onto a couple of maps in a word document which looks much more professional and can be inserted straight into our magazine.

Welcome to Destination Gems!!
We are Otago Polytechnic students and we’ve been assigned a project to create a travel magazine on the UK. This is a record of our progress.
In our group we have Ashleigh, Tresha, Holly, Peiyi and Fiona to whom various roles have been assigned.
Ashleigh is the big boss as manager and timeline/planner she is in charge of making sure we get things done. Doing our research is going to be Peiyi. Holly and Tresha will do the design and layout of our magazine. Fiona and Holly are our journalists. However, these roles are flexible and we will all help each other where needed.
We hope this blog will provide some interesting reading for you!
